Vitamin-mineral complex of iron and folic acid is a preparation that includes iron salts, folic acid and some vitamins (C, B 12). Intended to replenish iron deficiency in the body and have an anti-anemic effect.
Folic acid in these complexes improves the clinical effect of the drugs and enhances the absorption of iron ions.
In addition, folic acid is necessary for normal maturation of megaloblasts and formation of normoblasts; it helps stimulate erythropoiesis and takes part in the synthesis of amino acids (glycine, methionine), nucleic acids, purines, pyrimidines, choline and histidine.
How to use: adults and adolescents over 12 years of age with latent iron deficiency, as well as for the prevention of iron and folic acid deficiency is usually prescribed 1 tablet once a day. The duration of prophylactic treatment is 1-2 months.
