Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics.

The drug has a sedative effect on the central nervous system, as well as a moderate reflex vasodilator (coronary) effect through reflex irritation of sensitive nerve (“cold”) receptors of the oral mucosa. Receptor stimulation is accompanied by induction of release of endorphins, enkephalins, dynorphins and other peptides, histamine, kinins, which play an important role in reduction of pain sensitivity, normalization of vascular permeability and regulation of other important mechanisms of cardiovascular and nervous system functioning.

Pharmacokinetics.

When used sublingually, Validol® is absorbed from the oral mucosa. The therapeutic effect occurs after approximately 5 minutes.

After absorption, it is biotransformed in the liver and excreted in the urine as glucuronides.

Dosage and administration.

Keep the tablets in the mouth (under the tongue) until they are completely dissolved.

A single dose for adults is 1-2 tablets; a daily dose is 2-4 tablets.

If necessary, the daily dose may be increased. The maximum daily dose is 600 mg.

The duration of treatment is up to 7 days.

Kids.

There is no experience of using the drug for treatment of children.
