Afrazetin helps to lower blood glucose and stimulate glycogen-forming function of the liver. In diabetes mellitus tolerance to carbohydrates is reduced, because the amount of secreted insulin decreases and blood glucose content increases. Afrazetin helps to increase tolerance to carbohydrates. The action is due to flavonoids, triterpene glycosides, anthocyanin glycoside, silicic acid, carotenoids and organic acids, saponins contained in plant raw materials collection: blueberries, bean leaves, rose hips, horsetail grass and St. John’s wort, chamomile flowers. <\/p>\n
Contraindications:
\nHypersensitivity to biologically active substances of the drug. Arterial hypertension, nephritis, nephrosis, nephrozonephritis, diseases in which it is necessary to limit fluid intake (e.g., severe heart or kidney disease); peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum; cholelithiasis; hyperexcitability, insomnia, epilepsy; pregnancy, lactation, children under 18 years of age. Concomitant administration with cyclosporine, tacrolimus, amprenavir and other protease inhibitors, irinotecan and warfarin is contraindicated. <\/p>\n
Precautions:
\nDo not interrupt treatment with antidiabetic agents! Blood glucose control is necessary during treatment! It may be necessary to change the dosage of antidiabetic agents! If the condition worsens, consult a doctor! <\/p>\n
Children:
\nUse in children under 18 years of age is not recommended due to insufficient data.<\/p>\n
Interaction with drugs:
\nUse is not recommended in patients taking anticoagulants, antibiotics, sulfonamides, hypotensive drugs (calcium channel blockers), contraceptives, female sex hormones, hypocholesterolemic drugs (statins), cardiac glycosides, theophylline, antidepressants, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, beta-sympathomimetics, finasteride and other photosensitizers (e.g. thiazides, quinolones, piroxicam). Before scheduled surgery the use of the drug should be discontinued. Tannins of St. John’s wort may interfere with iron absorption. Patients taking other drugs should consult a physician before taking Arfazetin. <\/p>\n
Use in pregnancy and lactation:
\nSafety of use during pregnancy and lactation has not been established. Due to the lack of data, use during this period is not recommended. <\/p>\n
Effect on driving ability:
\nCaution should be exercised when driving vehicles and working with potentially dangerous mechanisms.<\/p>\n
How to use and dosage:
\n1 tablespoon collection put in an enamel bowl, pour 200 ml of boiling water at room temperature, cover and insist on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for at least 45 minutes, strain, squeeze the rest. Bring the volume of boiled water to 200 ml. Take in warm form 2-3 times a day for 30 minutes before meals for 20-30 days for 1\/3-1\/2 cup. Before use, shake the infusion. After 10-15 days, the course of treatment can be repeated. During the year it is recommended 3-4 courses. <\/p>\n
Overdose:
\nNon-compliance with the dosage and prolonged use may cause bitterness in the mouth, unpleasant sensations in the liver area. Treatment is symptomatic. <\/p>\n
Side effects:
\nPossible allergic reactions, gastrointestinal disorders, heartburn, increased blood pressure, tachycardia, headaches, weakness, irritability, sleep disorders, photosensitization (UV radiation should be avoided), irritation of kidney tissues (pain in the lower back and during urination).
